10 Reasons to Add Disneyland Paris to Your Paris Itinerary – Wandermust Family

10 Reasons to Add Disneyland Paris to Your Paris Itinerary – Wandermust Family

If you’re currently planning a trip to Paris and wondering whether Disneyland Paris is really worth your time then you’re not alone. It’s one of the most common questions we get from families heading to the French capital. After all with the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Notre Dame, a Seine boat tour and incredible food, and culture on every corner some families questions whether they can justify adding it their itinerary. Do they really want to “use up” a day for Disney? But we absolutely think you should use up a day or two in the park. Heres why!

1. It’s One of the Easiest Disney Parks to Visit

How to get from Gare Du Nord from Disneyland Paris via train

One of the biggest advantages of Disneyland Paris is just how easy it is to get to. From central Paris, you can hop on the RER A train and be at the gates in around 40 minutes. No complicated logistics, no long transfers just a straightforward journey that makes it ideal even for a short stay.

You can also go straight from Charles De Gaulle airport or  the Eurostar at Gare du Nord without any hassle.

2. Perfect for First-Time Disney Families

If you’ve never done Disney before I think Paris may be the perfect park to start with. Having done all the parks around the world (except Shanghai which is coming later this year), I think Paris may be the best first park to visit. The Paris parks are relatively compact and don’t require a two-week vacation like in Florida.

The queues, also in my experiences, barring peak times, are shorter and less chaotic than Paris, meaning it is a great park to visit even with toddlers

3. The Park is reinventing itself

Disneyland Paris has been undergoing major upgrades, and as of March 2026, new features, aka the much-anticipated Frozen land and reinvigorated Walt Disney Studios, now rebranded to Disney Adventure World, have opened.

The new Disney Adventure World expansion includes new character dining in the form of Regal View, a princess dining experience featuring princesses in their adventure outfits, a new Frozen- and Tangled-inspired ride, and a brand-new royal meeting with Queen Anna and Elsa. The park also features a brand new lakeside nighttime show not to be missed.

And as if this wasn’t enough, they have announced a new Up-inspired swing ride opening in 2027, the park’s first water ride, which is also the world’s first Lion King ride.

4. It Adds Variety to Your Paris Trip

Although Paris is amazing, let’s be honest, it can be a lot for kids, especially for those with toddlers and there is such a thing as museum fatigue. So, to add some variety to your itinerary, why not add a day or two at one of the most magical places on Earth?

5. The Park has Some Unique Attractions

Another question we often get asked is “We are frequent visitors to Walt Disney World or Disneyland, California is Paris really worth a visit?” And again for us the answer is undoubtedly yes as Paris has rides and shows that other parks don’t.

For instance, Crush’s Coaster, Indiana Jones’ Temple of Peril, and Avengers Flight Force are all rides that are unique to Disney. Disneyland Paris is also a pioneer in new shows being the original location of Mickey and the Magician (my absolute favourite Disney show) and the new Pixar Together Show.

On top of this Paris has some rides that while titled the same are different from their counterparts around the world. For instance, Phantom Manor has a different story to the parks in the US. Also, rides such as Hyperspace Mountain and Thunder Mountain are different too! And in my opinion the Paris Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is the best in the World.

6. It has the most beautiful castle

In my opinion the Sleeping Beauty Castle in Paris is the most beautiful out of any park. The forced perspective, colouring and landscaping make this castle truly spectacular. So even if you have done a chateau tour of France, you will still be impressed with the Sleeping Beauty Castle.

7. Shorter Trips Work Really Well

While we like to spend 3 to 4 days in the parks, the truth is you don’t have to. You can still enjoy the parks in Paris in 1-2 days.

You can comfortably experience the highlights in one day, especially if you plan ahead. And if you can spare two days, you’ll have a much more relaxed pace without needing a full Disney-style vacation.

Also if you decide to stay on site you get Early Magic Hour which we have found a great way of getting some of the more popular rides done without the larger queues.

8. Great for Mixed-Age Groups

Travelling with teens? Younger kids or toddlers? Grandparents?

Disneyland Paris is one of those rare places that genuinely works for everyone. There are thrill rides for the teens, gentle attractions, shows, and character experiences that everyone from babies to grandparents will love.

It’s also compact enough that splitting up and regrouping is easy, but there are also things like parent swaps, which means older children and parents don’t have to miss out while waiting with a younger member of the group.

9. Seasonal Events Make Each Visit Unique

The time of year you are visiting determines whether are any special events on. Some seasonal events that we have previously enjoyed are:

Such events can transform the park with decorations, special shows, and themed food, making it feel like a completely different experience.

If you’re on the fence, timing your visit with one of these events can make it even more worthwhile.

10. Amazing Dining Opportunities

One of the biggest misconceptions about Disneyland Paris is that the food is just standard theme park food.  Now of course you can still get plenty of quick-service options for busy park days and fussy eaters but Paris has really upped its food game.

Paris has a great selection of character dining options from Auberge, Table Lumiere and Regal View for princesses and Royal Banquet for Mickey and friends as well as the currently closed Plaza Gardens.

But on top of that Paris has La Foret Secrete by Jean Imbert. This is an immersive French fine dining experience with castle views that is sure to impress even the biggest food snob in your group.

And should need one extra reason …

11. It creates Core Memories

This might sound a bit cliché but it’s true. Disney is a magical and unforgettable experience no matter your age. From meeting your favourite character, watching the nighttime fireworks, or just laughing together on a ride I guarantee that like Riley you will get to make a new core memory at Disneyland Paris.

So… Should You Add Disneyland Paris? Honestly, we always add Disney to any itinerary where we get the chance!  For more information on booking your trip to Disneyland Paris click here!
